Memphis Tennessee Music

Graceland, the estate that was home to Elvis Presley is arguably the most significant Memphis, Tennessee musical landmark in the city (even though the mansion is about 12 miles from downtown). This great home of music was declared a National Historic Landmark on March 27, 2006. The estate is the second most visited private home in America - just behind the White House.

The King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, died at the estate on August 16, 1977 and is currently buried on the grounds with his parents in the Meditation Gardens. There are conflicting reports as to the cause of his death - even to this day. There are some who think the singer is still alive and he is occasionally spotted at the grounds of the estate and throughout the world.
